Sennheiser Receives Video Innovation Award from BCPVA for AVX Wireless Microphone System
Sennheiser received a Video Innovation Award from the British Columbia Professional Videographers Association for its AVX wireless microphone system. First introduced at NAB, the AVX wireless microphone system is designed as a compact audio solution that ensures stress-free audio capture for videographers. For the last five years the BCPVA, Canada’s longest running and largest association for professional videographers and independent production companies, bestows its VIA award on products that excel in features, innovation, and value, with an eye towards event, corporate, and wedding videography. At the NAB Show in Las Vegas, audio specialist
“Our members need quality gear that performs flawlessly in the field and provides the kind of value that smaller production companies demand,” says BCPVA president Shawn Lam, “and the AVX wireless system delivers on all fronts.” Lam and BCPVA delegate Michael Rendulic were impressed by the form factor of the AVX, particularly its EKP AVX XLR-mounted receiver. “As our industry transitions away from larger cameras with multiple shoe slots, the ability of the AVX receiver to mount directly to an XLR input without taking up additional real estate is an incredible asset,” Lam explains.
Lam was also impressed by the ease of use of the AVX, noting its ability to automatically select an available frequency within the license-free 1.9 GHz frequency range. “Our members are often working in spaces with other wireless activity going on, so the ability to plug in the AVX and start shooting without having to worry about interference is very valuable,” Lam says. Lam also commended the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and ability to charge the receiver via USB.
“We are pleased and honored to receive a VIA award for the AVX,” said Sennheiser Director of Broadcast Sales Doug Spears. “The AVX wireless microphone system is a cutting-edge product that demonstrates Sennheiser’s commitment to pristine audio as well as to meeting the specific needs of our customers through superior form and function.”
The AVX wireless microphone system goes on sale in June and will be available as individual components or ready-to-use sets.
