Carousel Industries Increases Its Investment in Healthcare Vertical with Appointment of Timothy Howard to Director, Healthcare Solutions

Former Unify Executive Brings More than 20 Years of Channel, Healthcare Expertise to New Role as Carousel Continues Its Focus in Healthcare

· Exeter, RI – Carousel Industries, a leader in managed services, video, data and collaboration solutions, announced that it has appointed Timothy Howard as Director, Healthcare Solutions. In this newly created position, Howard will be responsible for leading Carousel’s healthcare practice and will continue to develop new solutions to support its growing healthcare market.

As a vendor-agnostic, multi-disciplinary solutions integrator, Carousel has been at the leading edge of healthcare solutions for many years, providing a broad spectrum of innovative services to healthcare providers designed to reduce hospital readmission rates, while ensuring efficient and secure handling of patient data. Carousel’s recent expansion into the area of telehealth — including its DistribuCare video-based solution designed to help reduce waiting room times at doctor’s offices — is an example of the company’s ability to anticipate and respond to market trends within the healthcare industry.

“Tim brings an enormous amount of expertise to our healthcare team,” commented James Marsh, Chief Revenue Officer of Carousel Industries. “His understanding of the mechanics behind the telehealth market, combined with his interest in improving patient care and healthcare processes through more efficient use of technology, makes him extremely qualified to help our team uncover and pursue new revenue opportunities in this space.”

Before joining Carousel, Howard was Vice President of Healthcare Solutions at Unify, a global software and services company, where he led the company’s healthcare-oriented initiatives for nearly four years. Prior to that, he worked in healthcare and channel related roles at companies including Arrow Systems Integration, Xeta Technologies and Williams Communications.

“I am excited to be joining a team that is extremely well versed in healthcare, and look forward to building and extending our future offerings in this space,” said Howard. “Carousel’s ability to work across a range of different disciplines — including voice, data, security and other areas — provides us with a unique opportunity to have strategic conversations that extend to CXOs — beyond tactical IT concerns. Our staff and solutions portfolio is uniquely qualified to address the single, primary concern of nearly every healthcare provider: reducing readmission rates.”

Howard says that the three things that attracted him to Carousel Industries were the company’s ability to grow in the healthcare space, its ability to answer multiple points within the healthcare environment and its solid reputation as a national, multi-vendor integrator. “Most integrators look at a specific application and make that their primary delivery vehicle to the marketplace,” he says. “So they might have a good understanding of that application, but not necessarily how it works in a broader environment of applications to support patient or employee activities. Carousel is able to see the entire spectrum of applications and business strategy, and has the tools and experience to attack at that level.”
