Sennheiser Takes you to the Far Reaches of the Recording World with 'Blue Stage' App

· Suzanne Mattaboni

Audio and recording buffs with a fervor for the wild and worldly will flip over Sennheiser’s brand new digital magazine app, “Blue Stage,” now available for the iPad via iTunes. Blue Stage explodes with cool articles, graphics, how-tos and videos, sourced from the far corners of the recording world. The premier issue literally draws recording artists out-of-the-box—out of the studio and into the great outdoors, yet—featuring recordings as exotic as an all-bamboo orchestra in the Solomon Islands, to a musically-inclined group of kitchen staffers in Namibia who formed a mighty, make-shift chorus. It’s a National Geographic of audio, so to speak. Or shall we say, “so to sing.”

The magazine explores how producers capture inspiring sounds and transform them into art, turning a passionate eye to the recording and DJing industries and breaking down what it takes to succeed. It offers easy navigation, and amenities such as tips for DIY recording artists, suggested playlists, and an integrated audio player so readers can listen to tracks that complement each issue. Every month, one reader will win a special “Money Can’t Buy” prize, featuring merchandise that’s unavailable for purchase.
